So after a 5 min cab ride, I just spend the last 25 mins talking to the driver about life. He was an Irish black Jewish 50 year old man with some many ups and downs in his life. He was a pimp, drug dealer, father of two, passionate individual whom I received valuable advice from… The two things he told me was:
1) Always look out for number one (which is very difficult for someone with two kids)
2) Every night when you lay your head down on the pillow, just count your blessings.
For the past year I have majorly questioned some of the obstacles that I have been given. And I am overly grateful for this last-minute Kingstonian that I have met. Blessings come in all shapes and sizes. And I met an angel who came in the shape of a enlightening cab driver.
